Penmex spend thrilling weekend at industry Rising Star Event
Edinburgh-based event marketing specialists Penmex spent a thrilling weekend in Chester attending an industry rising star event.
This past weekend, Penmex travelled to Chester to attend an invite-only industry rising star event. The annual event is organised to recognise the most consistent performers and rising stars within the industry with the aim to get them together to educate, motivate and provide a setting for valuable R&R. Sales and marketing professionals from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Sheffield and Newcastle attended the invite-only event.
Organised by one of the firm’s business associates, the annual rising star weekend is one of the most anticipated events in the firm’s calendar.
At Penmex one of their objectives is to ensure that their staff and contractors feel recognised for their efforts and the event-marketing specialists have adopted a recognition and reward culture which has proven to be a great success. Ms Pennal ran a competition for two of the firm’s brand ambassadors to attend the rising star getaway, with the criteria centering around meeting targets and development. “The two most important things for people to progress in this business is first and foremost, the ability to be able to meet targets, but crucially the ability to continuously develop,” commented Kirsty Pennal, Managing Director at Penmex.
Held from August 4th to 6th, this year’s event took place in Stoke on Trent, with attendees spending the weekend at a cottage complex booked especially for the rising star getaway.
Friday night’s itinerary consisted of business development with the objective being to educate attendees. There were guest speakers, each talking on a specialist subject geared towards helping the rising stars to develop their business knowledge and expand their skill-set. After the speakers had finished, there was a Q&A session. After the Q&A session had ended, attendees had the chance to relax unwind for the rest of the evening.
Saturday was an adrenaline filled day spent at Alton Towers, allowing attendees the chance to let their hair down and have fun. Following the thrills of the theme park, the fun continued with a games night, pitting the rising stars against each other. “I believe that fun and success go hand in hand and while it’s important to work hard, it’s vital not to forget to have fun along the way,” commented Ms Pennal.
